Toughest losses of 2006

Probably the one-hitter tossed by Jake Westbrook, who lost that game 1-0 because the one hit was a homer. Kudo's to CHL for its shutout.

Tough Losses

Postby Doherty » Mon Dec 25, 2006 3:13 am

Playoffs, game 1.

Bad enough to lose any playoff game, but almost the worst thing is to be no-hit.
Game one vs. MOD, Pedro Martinez was hurling a no-hitter against us for eight innings. Then, when Pedro came up to bat in the bottom of the eighth, he not only grounded out, but he was injured on the play for two more games !!!
We scored two unerned runs in the ninth, to lose a one-hitter 4-2 !!
To top it off, Pedro came back in game 4, and we clobbered him for six runs in the first inning. Then went on to lose that final game 7-6 in 14 innings !!
I'm starting to believe the email I deleted that promissed BAD LUCK if I did not forward it to ten people.
So look for some junkmail from the Lugnuts in the near future.
